Hiya All

I am new on here but not new to Tropical Fish, i used to live in London and had a local fish shop very reliable,I have not had fish now for 15 years and looking to start again an buy all the equipment. Looked at a tank today at pets at home but they don't have much choice. anyone know any good fish shops in the Midlands around Burton or Swadlincote area?. Also some advice would be great as lots of things must have changed in years.

Thank you all very much

Honestly, i would look on ebay, you can get some great deals on there even with new tanks, theres more choice and it's cheaper :good:
Or even on different sites like Aquarist Classified, gumtree etc, as many people have almost brand new tanks that they don't want anymore.
What sort of fish are you thinking of getting?

just some molly's and guppies and neons and a couple of cat fish to start off with, i'm getting a bit stressed so I want to get fish to relax really. do you think a 60 litre tank would be big enough ?

I would get bit bigger than that, maybe go for a 3ft tank, 100+ litres :good:
If you try ebay you will probably find someone with an already set up tank with the fish you want in it, thats what happened to me.

Have a look at seapets, they have lots of tanks of all different sizes. They also throw in loads of stuff etc. for people setting up aquariums and deliver to your house (saves you going out to pick one up), they do have stores dotted around the country though if you wish to go in and talk to staff.

Hi ,I bought a 110l tank at Maidenhead aquatics ,shirley,[in Notcuts garden centre]for £119.99,and it came with a 200w heater filter thermometer, tapsafe and filter aid included in the price. The tank was interpet brand ,reasonable quality as well.It was 31 inches long , approx .17 high , approx 13 inches wide ,hope this helps. They also had a smaller and a larger one as well.
