Help Needed With Canister Filter If Possible

hi
i tried to do a water change and add the new water using the inlet of my external filter (fluval 103) but it went wrong and basically the floor got covered in water. That's cleaned up now but while the filter is out i may as well clean it. The actual "tub" part of it is full of dark brown water, shall i tip this out or not? and could anyone tell me how to restart the filter? I dont want to have a mini cycle.

you can flush the water in the filter, just don't rinse anything under tap water as this will kill off your bacteria!

if anything is clogged, simply rinse it in tank water. same as any filter really

all sorted now, i rinsed the media in the dirty water then poured the water down the sink and filled the tub with "new" tankwater also managed to figure out how to start the filter again by sucking the output tube.
