got 3 holding females in an 18 inch tank will this b ok or should i separate them will they fight this might sound silly but should i put a drop of food in

If they are holding then they wont eat. I would suggest leaving them in your main tank if at all possible? Whats the volume of the tank they are currently in? What filtration are you running on it?

its 18 inches by 8 thheb 8 high then the filter is just air powered sponge but will they fight in this tank

I think they would be ok with each other but really should have some rock work to be able to hide in, a tank that size isnt going to allow that and might just lead to aggression between them. I think you should either take the chance with them in your main tank or up the size of your breeding tank.

Having looked into the feeding a little more, you can drop a little food in once every week or so (esp in the last few weeks). they may or may not eat it so you should remove anything that is uneaten.
