Help Needed Power Heads

Hi folks

I need some help i have a rio 180 tank and have been trying to get the flow of water right, i have the following

2 -600 maxi-power powerheads
1 - 400 maxi-powerhead
plus the output from the filter and skimmer

im not sure if im putting the powerheads in the right places and cant seem to get the water to flow right round the tank .
at the moment i have the filter one end of the tank and the powerheads the other end , i have tryed various places but ive got a feeling that the power heads are #### or im doing something really wrong.

any help would be great .

To be honest I would ditch the Maxijets in favour of turbine pumps such as Koralia, Tunze and the likes.
I first started out with Maxijets and even the MJ900 doesn't shift much water (even in a Nano) compared to the modern turbines.
I reckon a couple of Koralia 1's and you would see your tank shift.

You can get mods for the maxi-jets that turn them into turbine style pumps. However for the amount they cost you would be better off getting a couple of korillias.

I would actually go with a pair of Koralia 2s in the 180 - I have the rio 180 as a holding tank at the moment for rock.
