Hi everyone. In the past for many years I kept lots of fish tanks. I’m starting to get back into the hobby again and I need some advice.

I’m starting a 10 gallon planted betta tank. I got a good deal on a Denneele scrapers tank setup. It came with some substrate and plants I am questioning if I should use. Pictures of everything are here:

The first question is should I use this substrate? It says not for use for fish that need neutral or alkaline water. Will this be safe for the betta?

Second should I use these plants? Are they safe for the betta?

Third I’m still searching for the aquascape pieces. If I am going to use these plants how do I keep them alive outside a tank until ready?

Thanks for the help!

For the substrate, if it says not to use it for fish that need neutral water, then I would not use it for the betta.
Those plants are safe. Your betta will appreciate all the nice greenery.
If you want to keep the plants alive, maybe you could put them in a bucket of water where they have access to light. You could also put some fertilizer in the water.
