Please bare with me if this goes on a bit!

I have a 180l Vision with an Interpet luminaire giving 120w of light via 4 compact tubes 2x 36w and 2x 24w and getting around 2.5wpg and my plants are growing great.

Now my 240l Vision is another story.

I bought a Luminaire off Ebay that takes 3x 28w tubes and then bought a 55w compact twin starter and 2x 55w compact tubes to give added light.Due to the position of the original tubes in the unit, there was no way to fit the compacts in with the tubes,so i drilled the hood and bolted the tube clips in.

The tubes are secure but i have decided i dont want to take a chance on anything happening when im away and come back to blown tubes and electrified fish.

I've decided to buy a new luminaire but am totally stuck.I want a unit that takes compact tubes so the ones i have dont go to waste but i cant find one online that says it takes compacts.
I also want to be able to have moonlight tubes on at night so i think i'd need one that runs with 2 different switches.

I've worked out that to get around 2.5 wpg,the same as my 180l i'd need around 160w of light.

Would a 4x 55w unit be too strong for a planted tank as the only ones i've seen are for marine tanks?

Can someone PLEASE point me in the right direction of a website or if anyone has another solution to lighting....

Thanks in advance!
