i was cleaning the side of the tank and thought i will clean the suction thing ( the thing what holds it on the glass.) pulled it and the bottom smashed. the good thing is the the mercury didn't leek but aload of black ball went everywhere and glass. i got all the glass but would the black ball be bad incase a fish eats it. i got rid of some but not all. Any advice?

Should i put it back in or is it to risky?

u can see that the tube is not broken, but not sure

I wouldn't risk putting it back in, throw it away and buy a new one asap.

Same, they aren't exactly expensive, just buy a new one. :good:

INO, yes they are. They are easier to read and don't have anything like that to break or worry about.

I wouldn't have worried about the thermometer. Its not mercury filled. There wouldn't be any need to purchase a new one if you just find a small container that you can put the thermometer into to stop the fish getting at it.

If you couldn't be bothered doing that :) they're cheap to replace!!
