Help! My Sae Is Is Not Eatting!

He is jsut sittink on a rock and breathing normally, he has been there for a while now. His color is bright and he looks health the nly odd thing is. the black line that goes across his body is missing on his gills and alittle bit in the back. the odd thing is it jsut dissappears into nothingness. thus, it is broken.

Post stats as well in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate, and ph.
Once fish stop eating not good news i'm afraid.

SAEs do sit like that normally. They have a very poorly developed swim bladded and if they don't swim, they sink. So they sit on stuff.

yeah i know.. but their black lines don't jsut start disappearing here and there for no reason.. and they will sit and eat.. not sit somewhere for a few hours and do nothing..

Does his skin look cloudy, does it look like something irratating him, like rubbing on things.
Can you describe the gill area any change.

upon a closer look (picked up hup.. he did not even swim away) he seems to have pop eye. it is hard to tell because of his small size.. but I deem it pop eye. there is little hope for that SAE but now i worry for my other fish. should I jsut keep treating the tank with Pimaflex and Melaflex? will that keep it off those fish or what?

Popeye is where the eyes bulges out it closely related to dropsy because of the build up of fluid.
Heard that melafix can help with popeye, but never used it or had popeye with my fish so couldn't say.
Pimafix is more for fungal deseases.

Just use both then to see if it improves anything.

well his one eye is definatly bigger then the other... and now his color is all fading. -sigh-

If there no improvement with the meds in a few days and the swelling or bulging hasnt gone down, i would use a stronger bacterial med, can you issolate the fish.

mm.. too late.. he died. -sigh- I sliced him open (I hated doing it) but I saw no ill spots or extra fluid or anything. maybe he just died for no reason.. and it seems the larger eye thing was more of a thing having to do with color missign on that one side.

I wish i knwo why he died. perhaps him beign messe dup that one day has somethgin to do with it? he loked liek he was in shock for some reason but the next day he was fine. that was last thursday.

Do you know what caused him to be in shock, as yes shock can kill a fish and also can set desease off.
