My Platy gave birth yesterday. WooHoo So excited when i first saw them. I have seen 4 little ones swimming around. How much fry do they usually give birth to. Also should I take them out of the tank and put them in a seperate tank. I've got a 400 litre tank thats around 100 gallons. I have plenty of plants and hiding places for the young fry. Will they survive or should I take them out. Thanks. Any help appreciated.

you could just leave them and see but if you want to give thema better chance put them in a breeder net

take them out or u wont hav any left the bigger fish will eat them!!!!!!!

My platy fry on 3 occasions have survived in my main tank due to lots of plants and hiding places, but then my tank is a bit o.t.t with plants.

Platy fry are extremely clever at hiding and avoiding being eaten. I would imagine that you will get a few survive. Mine stay hidden for a couple of weeks and then pop out and the other fish don't bother chasing them anymore. As you have plenty of plants in there I would say leave them where they are.

Congratulations of your fry :)
