I bought 2 new plants pabout 4 days ago. 2 days ago I found out they require my light
to be on for at least 6 hours a day. I keep my lights on from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm.
They are still dying and I don't know why
My ph is a bit high and I don't use any fertiliser

Please help

Do you know what sort of plants they are? Pics would be good.

You shouldn't have you tank lights on for that long; you'll just encourage algae to grow. Between six and eight hours is plenty.

Many plants are grown 'immersed', that means with just the roots on water and the leaves above. When you put the plants in your tank, those leaves will die back and new, underwater leaves will grow but it does take time.

Of course, you may have been sold plants that aren't truly aquatic at all, but we can't tell without knowing the exact plants you have.

Hardness and pH won't make much difference to most plants

The plants were in big tanks fully underwater when I bought them. Would the fact I don't use fertiliser be why

Doubtful, but it does depend on what species of plant they are.

I wasnt told what the plants were. ( the stor I got them from isn't the best)

Dunno how to upload photos tho

You need to upload them to a hosting site, like Photobucket or Flickr and paste the IMG code into your post :good:

I'm afraid we really can't help unless we know what kind of plants they are; it would be like me telling someone how to look after a pot plant when it turned out they had an oak tree!
