Help My Nile Puffer

my nile puffer is 14inchs long, ive had him for 6 years. hes on his own in a 5ft x 2ft x 2ft tank and has been fine. but now his eye has a white layer on it, he is burying himself all the time, and not eating. ive tried bacterial treatment but with no luck.
any ideas please?

Sounds like he may have a cloudy eye.
What are your water stats? That may help describe the burying all the time.

Cloudy eye is a symtom of a desease not a desease in its own right causes.
Old age.
Irratation.
Poor diet.
Parasites.
Bacterial.
Bad water quality.
Stress.
Need to look at your stats in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate, and ph.
Is the fish flicking and rubbing against things.

also, what size is your filter and how many gph does it turn over?

what bacterial meds did you use?

AND what are you feeding him?

Fahaka Puffers are extremely messy fish, you should be massivly over filtered and doing water changes weekly at least. Some water stats and a picture of the problem fish would help.
