Hello guys, any chance you can help? Ok, since this thread:

http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=174777

...my neon looks terrible. I've tried mild epsom salt baths and shelled peas to deal with the bloating (which appeared to work, but only temporarily) but I never really diagnosed the disease. I just don't know what to treat with! I don't have any kind of hospital tank so the neon is still with the last two neon's (that look ok, although I'm not convinced their stomach's are 100% as they should be, I'm not sure if there is some puckering, it's so hard when they're so small). :(

Now after a short course of treatment for bloating, the neon's stomach looks like it's all 'bitty' as of last night. I've tried to attach pictures but they're not very good. 'm not sure if it's somehow 'exploded' or if there's a parasite or something visible in there.

It's gills look all swollen, although I'm not sure if that's just the appearance due to the puckering behind them, and it looks really badly shaped and very poorly now. I feel terrible not putting it out of it's misery, or at least having used some kind of medication, but I've been advised against it as I just couldn't determine what was wrong.

Help! I just don't know what to do. :(

Right can you blow the pics up.
I want you to check for any black lining around the red on the fish.
My neons had a bitty tummy.
Also look for small white patches on the fish.

I'm sorry that's the best pic I can do with my rubbish phone. :( I know you asked me this before, and I didn't see anything at that point... but now I really do think I can see a black lining around the red stripe. No white patches, though.

If you can see a black linning sad to say it is ntd.
Seen it with other members and my own tetra's who died, it a classic sign of ntd.
Try and find you some info.

Thanks for your help, Wilder. Oh no, that's incurable isn't it? :(

The very bad neon just looks so ill, what should I do?

Tracey

They will all show different symtoms and die one by one, sorry been here and not nice.
All you can do is destroy the sick fish for now.
If all the fish die just strip the tank down and sterlise everything.
