hi, i just noticed my smallest angels tail has been bitten and he's having trouble holding himself in the water right now. I'm moving him into my smaller 13 gallon (63 litre) tank now so was just wondering if there's anything i can do to help the little guy out? I'm gonna also add some melafix to the tank aswell.

How much of the tail has been destroyed, yes a good idea to issolate the fish, and yes use some melafix.

only like the top half, not all of it. its just it seems to try to swim UP but its tail end starts to go down and he falls.

I've got a male dwarf gourami in the small tank so will he attack the angel?

He hasn't damaged his swim bladder, well the gourami are fin nippers so you will have to keep a close eye on them.

ok well its the filter is pushing him around too much right now so would he be ok in a breeder net for a while until he is stronger???

I wouldn't don' want to stress the fish anymore, can you turn it down the filter.

I would adjust the flow of the filter, or move around a few deco to reduce the filter flow. Melafix is a good thing, daily water changes, & kick the heat up to 85F or so.

it looks like i'm gonna lose him, i had to put him in the net because my gourami was already picking on him

i changed some water yesterday but haven't today,

Fish don't you just love them at times, good luck.

yeah he's in there now but he doesn't look too good right now. He's just nose up with his tail resting on the bottom of the net. I've turned off my light too.

Hi

If it's any consolation my Angel got her tail fin nipped really badly...a few days in hospital with Melafix done the trick.

Good luck mate ;)
