have recently bought 2 kribs one female and 1 male have been in a new tank i set up for about a week and the tank had been going for about a week previous to the introduction but i dont think it finished cycling.
the female and wccm and neons whihc are in there seem fine but the males fins are ragged and it hangs near the surface by the heater and filter and doesnt seem bothered in eating or breeding. the female has tried to impress him but he desnt want anyhting to do with her!
just did a water test and results are: ph=6.8, nitrate=around 100, nitrite=0, ammonia=0.25 so did a 20% water change to see if it helps it.
Can u recommed anything ele to do or know what is happening with it??#
Thanks
Any help greatly appreciated

Yeah, your tank is not done cycling. How long did it cycle? I would do a 75 percent water change right now. Do you own a gravel vacum? If oyu don't, go buy one asacp, it helps get rid of your nitrates. I would keept doing daily water changes ( up to 50 percent) daily until your water tests out with no ammonia, no nitrItes, and the NitrAtes under 40

the tank was cycling for a week. ye i hav got a gravel vac. will have a go with that today.
do u think the krib will survive ??

Cycling doesnt take a week. It takes a month. I would take WCMM and the Neons back to the store as they arent very hardy, and the cycle will most likely kill them. I would just keep the kribs in there. DOnt feed alot, like a pinch of flake or whatever your using once a day. Keep doing water changes, and they should make it. Whatever you do, DO NOT clean out the filter pad with tap water. If you are going to clean it out, use tank water. DO NOT replace the filter pad either, or your tank will need to re-cycle.

i have done two 20% water changes so far and it has started to get a bit of colour but his whole tail has rotted. wot do u recommend??

I would go for a med like Melafix. But, before you add it, do a HUGE water change, as you cant do water change for like 3 days I believe with the med. Im not sure, i'll look up some others for you. YOur male has fin and tail rot. Do you have a picture to make sure it isnt ammonia burns? Also, reduce the toxcity of nitrates ect. add a tablespoon of Aquarium salt per 5 gallons.
