You should always presoak freeze dried food before feeding it to the fish.

Yeah as fluttermoth said always soak freeze dried food first. I give mine freeze dried bloodworms but always soak them in tank water for a while first.

Think of things like dried mushrooms for example and how they puff right up when you soak them. It's the same with freeze dried foods for fish.
