im not sure but something is not right with my fish !
i have a tank size (inches) 35L x 16H x 12 W
in it i have logs rocks plants both fresh and fake, hiding places filter fluval 2
fish wise, clown loach x 2, silver shark x 2 , larger sucker , angel fish
our clown loach are a lot less active and they colours have seemed to faded a little (might just be my eyes) , 1 silver shark is swimming head down , the rest are fine (except the sucker who has a poorly head, think he got stuck somewhere)
we have the filter parlt out so air is getting in but the fish seem to be 'gulping' alot like they dont have enough air, but surly that cant be right, theres plenty goin in. this is our second tank, no:1 tank is fine lovely happy fish !
our nicer looking fish, fish tank just ain't a happy place, whats wrong ?

we want to transfer some more fish from tank one into it but wont / cant untill the tank is seeming better
we have to get a air pump for it (husband left me with instuctions to buy one i was watching in ebay but kids got in the way lol and i did not have the chance) ta jenny

How many gallons is your tank?
Sounds like bad water quality to me so can we take a look at your water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Your tanks severely overstocked clown loaches and bala sharks need 90 gallon tanks.
Really need to be kept in bigger groups.

its around 138 liters . ok done a nitrite test but not sure how to do ammonia and ph
the test results show inbetween the colours orange and orangey red which is, inbetween 0.3 & 0.8 so im guessing a full water change ?

Immediate water change and increase aeration in the tank.
Your tanks overstocked.
How long has it been set up.
The only fish that should be in your tank size is the angel.

just over a week, we were given the tank by someone , with the fish in, we have never had those fish before, we have had 1 angel a long time ago but gave away, the sucker was ours and we have got 1 red tail shark in tank 1 but not in the poorly tank 2 but never had more then 1, when we got the tank the man gave us his water which was green ! so did a compleate water change straight away and tipped all the green crap away , ill see if our local fish shop will take them, they pay good money too , got £15 once for a sucker

Worse thing you can do is a full water change, meant to alter stats gradually as not to stress and shock the fish by altering water stats of fast.
Did you clean the filter sponges in tap water.
I agree I would rehome the sucker fish, clown loaches, and the silver sharks.

yep filters cleaned by tap water

You destroyed all the benefical bacteria in your filter sponges.
You only rinse one sponge at a time, then in another week or two you do the other sponge in old tank water, never rinse sponges in tap water.
I would go to beginners and read up on cycling of a tank.
