my Betta called Christafish is really ill. he is floating at the top of the tank looking like he is waiting to die :(
at first he was just sulking at the bottom of the tank not responding to me. now he has gone to the top not moving his fins or anything. He looks real sad. I love this little guy.
has anyone experienced this before?

I have done a water change, 70% about
I have put in stress coat
I have just put in some swim bladder medicine :(

I dont want him to die!

So sorry your betta isn't feeling well. For us to give you good, sound advice, we need to know alittle about your tank. What size is it, what othe tank mates, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels, water change schedual ect... As much info as you can supply. And starting with a water change was the right thing to do.

floating is better than sinking if it is swimbladder infection, its usually caused by overfeeding or over stressed and bettas are terrible for being greedy, also too much brime shrimp can cause it also and you should alternate what you feed, you betta may recover do not feed and only feed sparingly if you must, it is not contagious, bettas have a very short swimbladder making this condition common, i would leave him be and hopefully he will recover, i dont think swimbladder medicine does anything its just to calm the fish down, melafix or stress coat is fine, changing more water may stress him out more, so just put him somewhere quiet and let him rest. di

I think what i did has worked :) He seems back to his happy self :) phew! I really thought I was going to loose him :(
Thanks for your help :)))
