Hi,

I fixed my background to the inside of the tank with double sided sellotape and now it is coming away from the back.

Its only pulling away where there was no tape but it now looks a bit crap.

How can I fix this ?

Kind regards

Alex

Your background shouldnt be on the inside of the tank, take the background out, allow it to dry and fix it to the BACK of the tank with sticky tape.

I have my background on the outside of my tank.

Doesnt having them on the back make them look a bit dull and lack luster ?

Also, doesnt that mean that you can see a bit above the background (mine has a wooden bit round the top).

I guess Ill have to do this, but dont know if Ill be able to move the tank enough to grt to the back, not to get the hoses etc un plugged to gain access.

Looks like it will be a weekend job if this is the only option I have :(

I would be a little worried about the tape you used to secure it to the inside of the tank, as tape has chemicals in it that could be harmful to your fish and Beneficial Bacteria in your filter.

You need to put it on the back side of your tank.

No, it should not look dull at all, as long as you clean the glass really well.

Do you fish/other stuff look dull in your tank when looking through the glass?

I am only cycling at the monent.

My understanding with putting a background on the back is that the light is partially reflected by the back of the tank, rather than all from the background.

I dont see any option though, trying to clean the glass at the back will be fun - Ive got my tank (300ltr) so the back is only an inch from the wall :(

Background taken out of tank, as much sellotape as physically possible removed from tank (none stuck to back, just a couple of sticky balls I havent yet been able to fish out).

Will stick to back of tank tomorrow or Saturday. Cheers for the advice all.

Not used it myself, but this stuff seems worth a try for the price :)

I used that stuff to stick our background on with, it's like a liquid. I would recommend that you give yourself as much room behind the tank as you can, as it's quite difficult to get all the air bubbles out otherwise...

We made the mistake of setting up the tank b4 trying to stick it on and we've got a few "silver" air bubbles dotted around the background cos we could get to them...
