Help Me With A Small Community Tank

im setting up my 2nd tank. i have cycled it, and i want it to be a community tank of small small fish.....

the tank size is 18x12x12

so what small fish can i keep and how many

I assume that the size you mention is in inches..right? Because the tank would be extremly micro small if that numbers are in centimeters.

yes it is in inches

That's 11 US gallons, so base don general guidance on here you should aim for 11" of fish, using the adult size.

So you could get 11 neons (but you need a mature tank for those)

or you could have 4 guppies in there

im unsure i just wanted something that would have character, and add colour possibly??
the tank isnt mature enough for neons i dont think, which is a shame

You could try any of the following (keeping colour in mind):
a tank based around a male betta
a tank based around female bettas
a tank based around honey or other gourami
a tank based around platties
a tank based around tetras (small choices for the most part as some prefer sizable swimming space)

If you want some colorful tetras for new tank, you could try few glowlight tetras..they seem to be quite hardy in my experience
