Hi everyone,
I have an established 75 gallon tank that had two larger fish in it (leporinus) and I've moved them to another tank. So I want to stock the 75 with assorted community fish like swordtails and corys. The tank is 4" long so there is plenty of swimming room for lots of fish.

So far I'm thinking that I want

6-8 corys
2-3 clown loaches
1 male velvet swordtails
3 female velvet swordtails
1 male sunset platy's
3 female sunset platys
10-15 neon tetras
10-15 cardinal tetras
1 small pleco
Lots of live plants

Will these all thrive in the same water conditions? I have extra tanks I can use for fry, quarantine and breeding as needed. I also have two large HOB filters, each one is rated to handle at least a 75g tank, but I like extra filtration. The tank is setup with natural gravel thats kind of a rust color and there are lots of rocks, caves and driftwood. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome.

Personally, I'd swap the clown loaches for a bigger group of something smaller - yoyos, kuhlis, zebra loaches, there's a lot of options in the 4-6 inch range. Not for tank size (which is why I've typed that same sentence in the past, lol), but they'd dwarf many of your other fish, and I think it would make the tank look very lopsided.

Aside from that, going with the upper ranges of of your shoal sizes, it's a good stocking level. I might go with the smaller loaches (I personally love kuhli and zebra loaches), and a group of pearl danios to bring some shoaling action to the upper end of the tank. Particularly if you went with 10 neons and cardinals instead of 15 (you'd have a stunning massive shoal even then), there should still be some play for future ideas from there.

kuhli loaches sound like a great idea, I've had them in the past and they were fun to watch. I'll add them to the list in place of the clowns. Also the pearl danios sound good too, should I get about 10 of them too?

One more thing I am wondering, will the neons and the cardinals all group together in one large group?
