I don't have the money right now to get the other two test kits yet,.... I'm working on getting the money up..... right now I have to deal with what I have, and anyone's help I can get on here...... Just to be safe how should I be useing this MelaFix and should I be doing water changes everytime or wait the 7 days like it says I'm knew to using meds like these so any help from anyone is greatly appreciated.....

For the Melafix i use that too and just keep using it till 7 days are up then clean, but and never had any of those problems when using that medication. As for the baby tank what are you feeding them? That might cloud the water. and as for water i would change about 65% of the water. Also do you have a filter and is it working or on? That might be why it is cloudy

I'm feeding crushed flakes three times a day the same thing i feed the adults.... they have a filter and it is on and do have hose over the tube because I lost one that got sucked up and as for the filter working I'm not sure....lol I hope the filter is a little its new....
I didn't have time to leave the tank on its own with no fish in it my other adult fish had Ick and Fin rot and I wanted to get them out quick I had 8 adults lost 7 and now just have two I bought one...but he was being treated for it any ways..... ok they seem to be doing better I guess I just worry to much... didn't want to do the wrong thing....

Thanks so much for the help.....

I used a hose over my filter too when i had fry and that seemed to block some of the junk from coming in so the water needed to be changed more often

Three times a day seems like a lot, I usually feed my fish once a day, twice at the most. You shouldn't feed them a lot, especially if it's a new tank, because (as you probably know, but I'll say it anyway) a lot of the food that gets left behind builds up ammonia and nitrites (apparently not nitrites yet for you, but it could be coming. Just watch out.).

Also, you probably started out with too many fish at first. It's okay, I did too, but the waste from all these fish builds up and causes lots of bad chemicals. You simply have to wait it out until the tank's finished cycling.

There's not much to do, keep following the directions on the medication and performing water changes as often as possible (as long as the med says it's okay). You and your fish will make it through this. Good luck!

thanks TorPeteO.....

I don't feed my adult guppies 3 times a day only the babies they are only a month and half old. 23 of them,.......and the rest of the babies are new borns.... someone told me to feed them 4 to 8 times a day but then I'd be doing water changes everyday.... they are healthy and want to keep it that way I know someone who only feeds their baby gups once a day and they are older then mine and are so small ......their's are like 4 months old and mine being a month and half are bigger then hers ...... if my babies still have food at the bottom of tank I will only feed them two times....

Thanks for the help guys

did a 65% water change on my babies and the water is now clear I also could see it was coming from the filter I don't kow what was in it... But while the water was running through it I moved the filter up and down till all of it came out of the filter now the filter is just giving off clear water and I made the panty hose have bigger holes in so more stuff could get through it will only be about 3 more week before I can take it off.....what is the ammonia ????? I mean is that the fish smell or something else ?????

if anyone can tell what that is ..lol ... I know its a stupid question

Thanks for any help
