ok here is my problem...i have tried 2 plecs in my cichlid setup only to have them both die for unknown reasons...my water is fine no amonia ph is between 7.2 and 8.0 the heat is about 76 to 80 degrees the heat in my house changes alot due to the fact that i run a window unit AC...most of the time its just hot..could the tempature changing so much be the cause? or what am i doing wrong the plecs are fairly small maybe 3 inches (didnt have em both at the same time) the cichlids arent bullying them the leave em alone...why are they dying? and what can i put inthere that will take care of my algae problem? that wont croak a week

Did they show any symptoms before they died?

Also, you can't rule out bullying just because you didn't see it, mbuna are masters of bullying when you aren't looking. Even if there were no marks on the plecos they can be stressed to death.

BN plecos generally do well with mbuna.

Could the PH be too high for them?
I'm sure they prefer soft water, although i doubt it killed them outright it won't have helped them deal with any stress or illness they encountered...
Just a thought.

well the first one contracted a whole lot of white spots...but thats after he died that they apeared...the second one was peachy for a few weeks ...no physical changes finrot..nippage anything of that sort....just stiff as a board when i found him comon plecs btw not but maybe 3 or so inches long...
