Ok here it is, I bought a brand new 46 gallon (US) Tank. I filled the bottom with about 1/2 inch of stones and then put in 1 inch of florite plant material and then another maybe 1/2 inch of stone. Over all almost 45 pounds of stone.

So I started filling and it got a nice brown color and then I fired up my brand new Fluval 305 filter.

And here is what I am left with. Its been 2 days now and plants seem be hurting because of the murkey condtions.

Any advice will be helpful at this point I have had tanks for over 5 yrs now and nothing like this. Also this is my 1st planted tank.

Thanks in advance Jeremy

If I were you, if you have an extra filter lying around, fill it with filter floss and run it to clear up the murkiness.

Did you wash everything off really well before putting it in your tank? I know when I first set up my tank I was so excited I half asst the rinsing off the rocks my result was similar to yours only I have blue rocks so you can imagine how mine looked. Then the next day I drained it and re washed the rocks and its been SUPER clear ever sense.
