help me identify my fish

had my tropical tank for a while now, and i'm looking for a name of one of the types of fish i have.

it looks the same as the one on the top banner on the main index page of the forum.

anyone give me any clues to its name or type!

oh no the banner keeps changing.

the fish i was looking at is a cat fish type alge eater, its dark with brown spots. if that helps .

either a common or sailfin pleco

Yeah it's probably a suckermouth plecostomous or hypostomous plecostomous. Identifying catfishes is difficut cos there has been alot of confusion between their latin and common names. I wouldn't worry too much. Whatever algae eating fish it is they pretty much have all the same requirements.
