Hello

My husband and I just got a new ten gallon tank. We already got a 5 gallon for a male bettas, 6 White Cloud Minnow. I am all ready for my new fish . I am trying to decided what fish for my ten gallon. Here are my choices Guppies, Mollies black n white ballon or dalmatian mollies, Neon Tetras. I read that Guppies and Neon Tetras carry diseases and are bad fish for tanks. The person at Petsmart said I can get 3 neons, 2 guppies, 2 mollies for my tank.

Or if I decided to get Neon, Cardinal. How many schooling fish total can fit in ten gallon?

Last question can I put my White Cloud , Bettas in the tank? But the guppies, Mollies and Neon will not work with my Bettas.
PS the tank are already set.

Ok, firstly, I presume the tank is cycled?
All fish can potentialy carry disease into a tank, not just guppies and neons, so it is important to check for signs of health problems before purchase. Guppies and Fighters don't usualy get along, so I would adise against moving your fighter accross to this one. Do you have mixes that you like the look of? A 10g will not have enough swimming space for neons, so I would advise against these too. How about;

2 mollies
3-4 guppies

A five gallon should only realy have 15 inches of adverage sized fish at the most, and mollies can get quite large, hence the relatively low numbers in my surgested stocking.
