Got a pair of black mollies about 2 inches long 12 weeks ago. Was told female was pregnant and she certainly looked it. She has now grown much fatter and is squared off at the bottom but still no fry. Can't see gravid spot as she's black and no sign of white ball near caudal fin though male molly has been sniffing around there the last 2 weeks.(No she has given birth and eaten them, she's very fat). She sometimes hangs around heater and in corners -always has done- but is fit healthy and active

Both mollies spend a lot of time at the top of the tank and are the first to grab food at feeding time, plus scavenging tank bottom for snacks in between meals. Poor sword tails had to live on bottom leftovers the first few weeks cos mollies didn't give them a chance though they are now bolder and come up to the top for their fair share of food at feeding time. I'm not overfeeding as all other fish are slim. Swordtail had a small bump, gave birth to 5 fry last week and regained her supermodel figure.

Try raising the temperature by 1-2oC. What is the temperature at now?

Other than that you will just have to wait and see, do you have any pics of her?

Here's a photo, not great as it's difficult to take photo of moving fish but you can see she's huge and squared off.
Sory can't upload, file too big. Will try again tomorrow
