Help Identifying This Illness

This is a tropical fish I inherited from someone else. Not sure what type of fish it is?

Water parameters, temp etc. for my tank are normal.

Fish suddenly developed a large bulge on it's back half. Took maybe 3 days to develop to its current size and has not grown bigger since. The bulge looks hard, and is lopsided (bigger on one side than the other. It has a bright red vein running through it. The fish is scraping itself on things to try and "itch" the lump. So scales are missing over the lump. It is swimming erratically. It is still eating.

My first guess is it is a tumour, maybe egg bound? But if it is egg bound... I am thinking the bulge should be even?

So you think there's eggs inside the fish? I don't think it's eggs inside the fish. It looks like a tumor to me. If it's a tumor, the only way to put the fish out of it's misery is to euthanize it.

What colour is the bulge?
Does the bulge look smooth in appearance?
Does the bulge resemble a cauliflower?
Any strands coming from the bulge?
Can you see anything else on the outside of the bulge,or inside the bulge, like a parasite, worms, etc?
Can you see any parasites on the scales, or beneath the scales?
Is there any excess mucas, or grey slime on the fish?
What do the fish gills look like?
What does it look like when your fish go to the toilet?
Any red soresn or red pierce marks on the fish?
Is the anus of the fish enlarged, or inflamed?
