my fish have white spot ich. i noticed on my plec what looks like grains of sand and i have noticed some other fish rub themself on the sand. i need to find something safe to use with fry in the tank.

You should be able to treat the tank with whitespot meds - just use half dose - it usually mentions this on the bottle. Protozin is one I have used in the past and highly recommend.

When you are working out the dosage per your gallons/litres - remember that if you have lots of rock/bogwood/decorations this will decrease the amount of actual water in your tank so allow for that in your calculations (one way to find out is to remove these items and see where the water mark drops to - e.g. 10% less volume without large items in tank).
