I have a 55 gal tank.

1 red fin shark

2 silver dollars

2 sword tails

Water stats

PH 7.4

Ammonia 1.5ppm (was 3.0 prior to water change today)

Nitrite/nitrate both 0.

I am seeing a white sore/spot on one of my silvers lip. Also may have some white around the gills of the sword tails. I lost a pair of sword tails this week while I was out of town. I have added a picture but it is hard to see the spot on the silver. I started ich treatment yesterday but any help would be appreciated.

No that is what has me confused. The white is only on the lip of the silver. It is hard to get a look at it but seems to be a sore or fuzzy growth on the lip. Swords seem to have white around the gills looks much like the lip of the silver.

Yea, a little. Seems bigger and a little fuzzy but close.

Its not ich. Its "mouth fungus" which is really one way columnaris, a bacterial infection. To treat this, slowly turn your temperature down to 72, use maracyn or tetracycline, and add salt if your fish will handle it. If it is only on one fish and you have a hospital tank, go ahead and quarentine him. If its multiple, best to treat your whole tank. Here is a link with more info.

Yea I was just reading you post to the other question.

Thanks again for the help!

I would have been stuck by myself.
