I HAVE A BLACKMOOR AND A ORANDA IN A TANK both of them have been pooing long white poo now my blackmoor has a lilttle white blob on the end of his tale i havent a clue what it is should i take him out incase my oranda gets it plzzzzzzzz help i am gonna do a 20 - 30% water change in a min please help whatt should i do?

ye i think itrs ich or white spot i dont no stats or tank sise

It won't be white spot its more likely to be fungus or a bacterial problem. Does the crap look like a possile worm because this is what generally happens when discus have parasitic intestinal worms. Have you found the fish loosing weight significantly lately?

err not really its poo is still long but back to its normal coular now the white spot look like a lil hole then like a hole but filled in from the side he is eating an swimming normally an seems quite happy

shouldn't be worms then, goldfish generally get this when the water quality is not upto scratch, i would recommend getting a antibacterial treatment, and use it in conjunction with some aquarium salt. Its well worth using salt every water change because its a natural steriliser and a healer. I use it on our new goldfish at work seems to work depending how bad it is. Sounds like you have spotted it quick, so that gives you a good chance.

what i mean, is it sounds like a fungus growing, which is a started by a bacteria. If you use a anti-bacterial treatment like the interpet anti-fungus, or myxazin with aquarium salt it should clear the problem and also heal the wound.

but its also important to test your water quality, because this problem is usually a result of poor water quality, Ammonia, nitrite etc not always tho.
If you use aquaurium salt every water change it will benefit your tank and your fish, because salt is a natural healant and pH buffer therefore keeping your pH stable and any risk of disease at a minimum.

the best thing to do is take a sample down to your local shop and get it tested, because if its slightly high the problems will persist.

Hi,

I agree with fish keeper, sounds like fungus and an internal parasite/bacteria problem, if you get INTERPET No.9(it's in a blue box) that's an internal anti bacterial treatment & you can get a seperate treatment for fungus, there will be loads of treatments labelled fungus treatment it doesn't matter which brand but I'd recommend king british as that worked for me. I'm not sure if you can mix meds as I've never had to do it and haven't really got much experience with fish illness so hopefully someone else can clear that up.

Also you need to get a test kit, you need to know what your water stats are so that you can ensure the water stays in good condition for the fish & can hopefully avoid these problems in future.

As for your tank size, use a tape measure / ruler to measure it, as it's important to know what amount of water you have so that you can accurately treat the fish, you don't want to overdose them.

I hope your goldies recover soon :)
