Need to look at your water stats first in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
So the fish is unable to maintain its balance in the water.
Do any of the fish looked bloated.

I would invest in some liquid test kits of your own.
Lfs always say water fine when its not.
Gasping can mean bad water quality, parasites, to bacterial.

it is balanced just sitting at the bottom at the mo ,just now and again when trying to swim seems a bit sideways had water check two days ago and everythung was bang on, did feed them bloodworms sunday could it be constipation ?

Sounds more like a bacterial infection to me.
Cook some frozen peas for a few minutes, let cool down, pop out of shell, mush between fingers into small bits and add to the tank.
They tend not to heavy breath with constipation, but can with a bacterial infection, but they usually don't make it when breathing more laboured.

Does he have any spots or is rubbing on anything? If not likely bacterial. I used Maracyn-2 by Mardel with good results.
