Ok... :shout: :good: MY guppy gave birth!!!! I new it had a gravid spot but it was tiny and i noticed it a week ago and today I walk in at dinner time(for me) and I see 2 guppy fry swimming around the tank. I quickly got my breeder net and my NET net and started catching them. After I caught one I would then spot another and it kept on happening until I came to a total of 14 fry. Right now the fry are in the breeder net and are waiting to get removed and put into my 1.5 gallon betta tank(would this be okay? The tank has a filter and a heater, but I dont turn on the heater because its not needed right now). I also have another pregnant female that is about ready to "blow" in a week. Should I move her once I put the other fry into my small tank, or wait a day or two? Right now I'm also trying to figure out what to do with my babies. Do any of you know if petsmart takes "donations"? I'm going to feed the fry crushed flakes because I'm 13 and dont plan on getting to live food until I'm older. I tried to feed them after they we're in the breeder net and none of them ate. Is this normal?

finely crush the flakes, they will take these.
moving them to the other tank will be good, just give them floating plats, or at least plants at the top to hide in. Mine also eat some freeze dried bloodworm, finely crushed.
with the other female i would put her in the small tank soon also, that way the fry are already in there. then move the female out.

if petsmart doesnt take the guppies then you could probably find someone who would want some, maybe a friend who wants to start a tank. this would be a good idea to get other people into the hobby!
