Merry Christmas to everyone! :)

Unfortunately, not everyone knows that you really shouldn't give people animals without making sure they know about it. Yesterday a friend of mine came in with a glass bowl full of new fish for Christmas. Would have been lovely if I'd had the space and if they'd been the right species/gender. Oh boy, talk about a dilema! I can't give them back because they are a present and that would be rude...on the other hand, I can't stand to watch a fish be hurt in my aquarium because I'm not taking care of it properly! arrrgh! talk about worst nightmare come true. Anyway, to get to the point, he gave me two smallish (around 2 inches) koi angelfish. They're beautiful, but I know nothing about angelfish at all! (I hate getting fish without knowing everything there is to know about them first *shudders*). Well, here's the problem. I don't know whether they will be okay in my aquarium:

-29 gallons (38 cm tall)
-23/24 degrees Celcius
-7.1 ph
-9 hardness
-very very very strong currents (arrgh!)

From the little research I just did, the statistics seem to be OKAY ish, but it's the strong current which seems to bother the poor things. They get stuck in corners and it's horrid, but I can't just turn off my filters. ugh. Any tips? Will the strong current be terrible for them? They can't seem to get food, so I've basically been hand feeding them, for the past day, although I hope the sight of bloodworms will get them excited. Also, they are sharing their tank with 5 adult swordtails and 5 juvenille swordtails (around 1.5 inches). So far they seem to get along, although the swordtails, who are excellent swimmers, bump into the clumsy angels every now and then. Any tips or changes I desperately need to make will be appreciated! Help!

Oh, and my friend also gave me two new swordtails. *sigh* I don't have the space, argh! But at least, I know how to take care swordtails.

30 gallons is okay for 2 angelfish. The currents are not. It will damage the angels fins. Angels arent the strongest swimmers either. I would turn off any power head ect. before you kill the angels. If your filter is on high, put it on a lower setting. What kind of filter is it? What size tank is it for? Since the angels are small, they swordtails MAY be nasty to them, so watch out for aggression.

More importantly they need some warmer water then 23/24 degrees. I would say 28-30 is a better range, but it depends on what fish you have in the tank.
