Help. Fluval U2 Filters Constantly Pack Up :(

Hi everyone. I have had two fluval u2 filters in the past year Im very fed up with them but clueless on what filter to get next. The first one stopped working completely and over the past week our second filter has packed in too after working intermittently . I was wondering if you could give me some advice on a more reliable filter that I could purchase for my 60L coldwater tank that hopefully wont keep breaking down.

When you do your water changes do you turn it off?
Sometimes you have to nudge the impeller to get it started again.
I have a U3, that often won't start after being switched off until I give the impeller a nudge

My Fluval internal wont pump unless the cannister is full of water and submersed.

I suggest taking the filters apart and giving it a good clean. Sometimes too much limescale builds up inside the filter which causes it to stop working. Everytime my internal filters stop working I take the filters apart and scrape of any limescale on or around the impellers with a small flat screw driver, and it always starts working after that.

When I turn off my AquaClear 05 HOB filter, it won't start again till I fiddle with the propellar.
I think I might have to re-oil it, but I don't know what with!
I gave my filter a really good clean out because of all the algael the fluro light creates.
