Help - Fluval 2 Filter In Tropical Tank

Hi all

Im new to the site and im wondering if someone can help me. I have a fluval 2 plus filter which is new, but it does'nt clean the tank. All the waste just drifts straight past it and it only goes in if it is basicaly sits on it. Has anyone elce had this problem? the water looks foggy and poluted and the tank is only a few weeks old.

Hi Kaz,

Are you sure you have it set up correctly. I think the most likely thing is that something is blocking the water flow??? Have you used one before?

Make sure you have the little slider thing in such a position that its fully open. When i first started i had a small, cheap filter which came with my tank (now in my betta tank) and the instructions said nothing about changing the flow rate. After thinking the filter was broken, and playing about with it for quarter of an hour, i finaly found what was wrong . Stupid me
