Hello,
I am tryin to cycle my tank and all the fish are swimming at the top and 5 of my baby mollies died. I am about to do a water test and will post my results. Can anyone help???

Ok my water test seems to be ok so i am not understanding.

PH 8-8.5
Nitrite 0.3 mg/l
KH - 12 dH
GH - 3 dH
Ammonia - 0.25 mg/l

I did a water test last night and got the same results, added some cycle and now I have cloudy water and fish at the top. Please help

Are they getting enough oxygen? Trying doing a 50% water change, and make sure there is enough carbon in the filter. This has happened to some of my fish. One day they were fine and the next day they were dead. When you started to cycle did you put benifical bacteria in the water from a previous tank? What is your Nitrate level?

The elevated ammo & nitrite will cause that. You need to do daily water changes & increase aeration until both nitrite & ammonia are zero. If you have a hob filter, drop the water an inch or so from maximum.

what is a HOB filter?? I have a Eheim filtration system. There are no bubbles being created in my tank but I bought an Air pump to make some bubles do you think that this would help?? Also how to you find out your nitrate levels? I have a nitrite kit but not nitrate. I went to my local fish store and they said that the cloudiness is caused by ammonia. But when I did the test my ammonia isn't that high so I am not understanding.

Thanks
Michelle
