hello everyone.
In my 64 gallon tank, i have 4 goldies,4 adult angelfish,4 juvie angelfish,8 tetras.
i have a ug filter, and an internal power filter running with media as sponge.
its been running smoothly for about 2 years and the fish were very happy and very VERY alert. i would like bump my hand onthe aquarium and they would get scared andget to the other side of the aquarium. but today all of the angelfish gathered at the left corner of my aquarium near the surface and wo,nt budge. like do,nt respond to countless tapping of the aquarium!!!! what shud i do???
P.S:if you want ammonia, nitrate and nitrite readings, i,ll buy test kits. but the aquarium is fully cycled. i check on the cycle by smelling the water. if it is smelly it is,nt cycled yet. and it does,nt smell of anything.and i feed them a mix of different types of fish flakes and live daphnia.and do,nt mind the english!!!:)

its most probably water paramaters ie a spike in levels of ammonia/nitrite or lack of oxygen. you really should always have a test kit. start off by doing a big waterchange at least 50% pref more like 70 and make sure you have plenty of airation/surface aggitation and see if that improves

I agree that usually signs of stress are caused by bad water parameters. How often do you do water changes and how much? How often do you clean your filters? The UGF could be tunneled to the point that it's not doing much as far as filtration thus leading to a potential ammonia and nitrite spike.

The smell of the water is not the best indicator of how your cycle is doing. I would buy a test kit ASAP . You really shouldn't keep goldfish in with the angels.
