Help Finding Suitable Plants

I'm in need of some help finding plants that are 1) Sev Friendly as one of mine used to be pretty much like a lawnmower and decimated most of my plants .I've since switched to fake/plastic but it just doesn't look the same or as nice as before .Also i need help with plants that will grow and flourish at 3 foot deep . I would like a carpet of some form but the moss i had all died I do have a plant growth bulb on the tank and also reflectors .

Can anyone offer any advise on this ? even just a list of plant names that could work and i'll do some reading up on them
