Hi
So my betta's had ick before and i managed to successfully cure it
however, it started getting fin rot (it's tail is frayed and getting obviously shorter
)
i went out and bought some medicine from a nearby pet store and it's called distinct-M (a water treatment against mycotic ulcer, erythrodermitis, gill rot, mouth fungus, fin & tail rot)
the indications are 10 drops per 10 L and i've followed instructions
i also have a friend who used to be a betta breeder, but because of her health condition, she decided to give them away.
she has some leftover indian almond leaves and aquarium salt and gave them to me.
according to her directions,
i change 30-50% of my betta's water every 2-3 days and with each change, i put a small 1.5 square inch of indian almond leaf and a pinch of aquarium salt in the tank
after a week, my betta is significantly more active with a better appetite
and the tail isn't frayed anymore, but still a bit infected with fungus (you can see a bit of brown on the end)
but the weird thing is, just this morning, i noticed that the tail is frayed again...
can someone please tell me why it got better and got worse again?
oh and one more thing, my betta is VERY aggressive. even if i walk past to the other side of the living room, my betta's jerking and flapping his fins rapidly and his mouth's opening and closing nonstop. i get scared he'll exhaust himself and die so i put a piece of white paper blocking his view. i know that for a fish to recover well, it can't be stressed ):
is it normal for a fish to be SO aggressive?
thank you so much
