Help Filter Not Working

hi,ive just taken my eheim 2028 external apart for its clean,cleaned it and put it back together and the pump is making noises.the filter wont pump water at all and when you press the top down to let the water fill up the filter,nothing happens.ive only got an internal running arrrrggghhhhh.

Try filling it up with water yourself. Maybe it needs to be primed a bit.
I don't really know anything about that filter, but I hope you get it working soon!

when you clean them you have to close the in and out levers, then unplug it. when you put it back you have to turn the in and out levers back, on then plug it in. if you do this differently it can cause problems. the filter has probably got some air in the in pipe and sucked this up and caused a "stutter" in the process, which has caused less suction in the water cycle and now you have air trapped in the filter. try shutting off the out lever and fill the filter manually at the top of the in pipe. if this fails, with the filter off, take the spraybar off and with the in and out lever in the on position suck on the end of the pipe that attacher's to the spraybar and when you have water coming up the pipe, reconnect the spraybar and turn the pump on at the plug

thanks for your advice.got it working but the large primer button on the top is now very stiff.you press it down,and it wont come up.is there a spring that could be siezed/brokeni changed from fine gravel to sand a few days ago.thought something may have been blocked,but i stripped it right down and found nothing apart from very very stiff primer button.
