One of my fig8 puffy hasn't been eating for almost 2 weeks and has lost the signature beer belly. He's very slim now and now shaped more like the 747 jet. His teeth are not long as I feed snails often. I tried brine shrimps, bits of prawns & bloodworm but he just looks at them and won't even try to consume. My other puffers are doing great.

There are 2 figure8 & 2 GSP in my 55G brackish tank and they have been together and getting along well for almost 2 years. Water quality and chemisty are both excellent.

To help with this, it'd be good to know the water parameters (exact numbers), the salinity of the tank, PH etc.

If I have puffers that stop eating then usually it's an underlying problem of something else.

have you considered soaking food in garlic at all? This can stimulate a stubborn puffer to eat.

Have you tried feeding any of the frozen foods? My GSP's loooove frozen shrimp. You can get it at your LFS. It sounds like there may be an underlying issue though
Is he showing any other signs of illness? Have you added anything to the tank recently? The more information you give us, the better we can help.
Fella - interesting tip on the garlic, I had no idea!

do puffers like the smell/taste of garlic? or are you recommending garlic to treat the puffers for any possible illness?

Today for the first time in a while, I saw him pecking at a frozen chunk of brine shrimps. Hopefully, he's doing better and will continue to feed.

Water parameter is all within fig8's likeability. I check regularly and keep my tank very clean. I only feed them frozen food like brine shrimps, bloodworms, plantons & krills. As for any other signs, I don't see but he's definitely getting slimmer each day.

it is basically an attractant flavour that most fish find irresistible. Without a photo or more details, i wouldnt be able to tell exactly whats wrong with the fish.
