-_- hi i have a jaguar cichlid in a rio 400 with a common plec the jag is about 10 - 11" and is about 1.5 yrs old (since i had him as a fry 1.5")
what is the max size of this fish and can anyone recomend a good deit for him for me (should i get a mate and bigger tank??? i know its very hard to pair older cichlids but i have managed it in the past sometimes with great difficulty flowerhorn epecially) any help you can give would be appreciated :)

sorry im feeding him on prawns, cichlid sticks , the odd worm (dont like feeding him them only once every few months)
ive been on a few forums and they suggest live bait but surely theres food out their with the protiens in
ive tried lance fish and he dont like them they dont move

but surely theres food out their with the protiens in
Any carnivorous pellet will have the necessary protiens and everything else they need too. Otherwise prawns, shrimp, worms and fish are just fine as supplements. It sounds like you're doing just fine.

Jaguar cichlids grow to 50 cm in lenght (max) and are very agressive. If you will get a tankmate for him he might kill the newcomer (or the newcomer could kill him).

if you used a divider untill they bonded, or if not return the other fish...
i believe fish are better viewed as a pair :D
