Help! Emergency!

So i've been cycling my tank as you all know from my many threads. I just noticed that my filter is backing up because the water cant get through, now my cycle isn't done what should i do?

I have activated carbon and zeolite crystals waiting on hand for a new filter, but i didn't want to do this during the cycle?! help!

It's most likely just clogged up a bit. Do a small water change, but use the water you take out of the tank to lightly rinse off the filter media, to get the excess junk off it. Make sure you use tank water, and only rinse it a little so you don't kill off, or rinse out the good bacteria.

The stuff clogging your filter is NOT the stuff you are "growing" - the good stuff will be buried so deep in the media it would be difficult to "wash it away" !
Feel free to rinse the media IN OLD TANK WATER.... NEVER tap water !
