help dwarf gormei looking bad

hi guys and girls i have a dwarf gormie which has what looks to be a red cut on his mouth whith loos skin he\she is not eating and is not active at all iv isolated him\her and need advice of what it could be i have started on a treatment of aquadene first aid to try and slow id down any advise it useful ive manged to save 13 fish to date and i really dont want to loose this one

Sorry to hear of your troubles....

I'm surprised that you haven't had any responses.

I can't give you any advice as to what sounds like a fish-related mouth 'injury'. If your Dwarf Gourami isn't eating well, then I think you're doing the right thing by isolating it. Now, you'll be able to 'feed' the fish without its food being taken by other fishes.

As for food, perhaps small bits of flakes would be most suitable for it?

In truth, if it is a mouth injury, and the fish isn't feeding well, then the situation doesn't look very promising for the fish......

All i can suggest is melafix.

It will help your fish recover from its injury.

Make sure your water is in good condition to stop your fish getting its wound infected.
Maybe some anti stress formula would help 2.

This happened to my dwarf gourami. It started out like a cut on his lip. Then it got worse, and eventually his lip kind of fell off. He was not active, and didn't eat much, but was very bloated. He devolped a welt looking thing on his side, which was exposed flesh I think now. Anyway, he died a horrible death, and during that is when I found this site. Nobody ever really knew what it was. Possibly a cut that went infected. Also, I had new tank syndrome for a few weeks before so that probably weaknd him too. I tried different meds, but nothing helped. None of the other fish were infected. It all happened over a couple of weeks.
