:/ I woke up to find one of my cories has Rot.. it is on his back under his rotted away back fin thing (dorsel?). He wll not eat with the rest of his pack and I am worried. What shall I do?

Ammonia is 0 today and was yesterday but the day before it was .50 all day.... This is because I added new fish to end a very sucessful fishless cycle (t handled about 12 ppm a day) and added cories.. stupid me forgot to remove the decaying fishfood it was cycling on. :/ but I removed it and now ammonia is dead 0.. even with 12 fish in it. NitrIte is also zero.. and thanks to a large algea colony NitrAte is about 5-ish.

anyway.. ifs there anythign I can do for the fish or is he a lost cause?

Check his barbels to make sure they havent gone thin and short, corys are very sensitive to water quality, plus they are very prone to bacterial infections.
You will need a bacterial med can you issolate the fish for treatment.
Hope he makes it but once they stop eating not good news, good luck.

Sorry R.I.P. What your latest results in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, i think i would add a bacterial med to the tank as they don't sound right.

I add Melafix everyday.. I replaced him a bit ago.. I got 2 more shwartz and 2 more peppers.. ^-^

so now I have 7 shwartz and 6 peppers. They are so cute when they swim with each other.

Not wise to add fish after a death, best to wait a few weeks to make sure the other fish are fine.
Hows the ill corys doing now.

I have no Ill cories now.. that poor guy died.. I thought somethign was wrong with him when i got him.. but the LFS guy assured me he was fine.. :S I hate them.. they always sound so angery when I say something.. I know they are 50% brainless but meh.. how can you disagree with people that keep saltwater coral tanks looking amazing?

anyway.. all the fish are pretty health looking.. nice barbles.

That's fine then, good luck.

but hey.. saicne i have a decent number of sfish that I did not QT as I lacked one.. what should I do before adding fish to that tnak now that it is contaniminated.

It's always wise to quarantine new fish as you never know what they could be fetching in from the lfs.
Quarantine is usally 3 to 4 weeks.
