I bought a moss ball from a Forum member which came in a padded envelope and was flat as the proverbial pancake on arrival. All I have is a plastic bag with some green strands. Is there any way I can get it to look like something resembling a moss ball?

hi, are you sure it's a moss ball and not just some moss? moss balls aren't really in 'strands'. have you put it in water yet? they expand a great deal when first put into water, so it may become more round. :good:

if its the java moss then theyre not meant to be in balls its just a way of selling eg as big as a tennis ball your meant to tie it to things eg wood or slate :good:

I have those - and that always worked for me too -
got 4 in the tank and they're awsome
the fish really like them :good:

I actually took 2 marimo balls and flattened them out and stuck them to some rocks with 2 lb fishing line. I LOOOVE the look.. heres some old picks because im too lazy to take some new ones.

Thanks for your advice everyone. I'm soaking it in tank water overnight in a bowl and will try rolling it tomorrow. It defeinitely looks like a flat a moss ball, not Java moss.

That looksw so cool skypolak! Did it ever attach itself?

My girl says they look like chiapets!
I did it only about a month ago so I doubt theyre attached yet. really havent looked though
