Help....my Clown fish has disappeared overnight !

I have a small marine tank, with just 1 clown, 1 emporer Cardinal, 1 royal grama, 1 small damsel, and 1 small other fish who's name escapes me at the moment (and 2 hermit crabs) - Are any of these likely to have attacked the Clown ? there are no signs of him in the tank at all !!!!!

Regards

Glenn

I would move around the rock if possible to try and find him if he has died. You'll want to remove him to avoid a possible ammonia problem.

What kind of tank do you have? There’s no chance it has jumped over into a rear filter chamber is there, it’s happened to me before with my 24g D&D :hyper:

did u get the clownfish the other day? If u cant find him and u looked for a while, imo, hes gone  . If u want some good news, the other day, i lost my blue tang, and after around an hour of looking i found him making himself comfortable in the back of my tank under a piece of rock  .

This may sound obvious but if your fish decides to jump, then there is something with your tank the fish doesnt like. If you want to get another clown, i advise u to find out whats wrong and not learn the hard way like i did, ahhhh the day when i threw atleast 45$ down the drain buying more sand sifting gobies cause they kept jumping.

Thanks for this. He's been in there a few weeks, never hidden or anything. Added the Royal G this weekend, then within 48 hours, Clown's gone ! Mystified....are any of my other fish known to be partial to Clowns ?

milkton .... what was wrong with your tank water that the gobies kept jumping out?

I had a yellow clown goby that would taste food and then spit it out .... he just would not eat any type of food. I feel there must have been something wrong with my water as well. I started running with fresh carbon to try and remove whatever it may have been.

I intend to use high quality carbon made in the U.S or upscale media of some kind .... I've ordered some chemi-pure elite, but I haven't used it yet.

I have an AquaClear 20 -- and have to warn people never to buy the replacement carbon that they sell for their units. The unit is made in Italy and comes with high quality carbon; however, the replacement AquaClear carbon packs you can buy are made in China and the quality control is simply atrocious.

my guess would be he died, I had damsels die before and their bodys were tough to find with all the rock. I just lost a powder blue tang 2 days ago, I had him for 2 weeks and my guess is my carpet anemone ate him, there went $70. So it looks like im gonna need another tank to keep him in so he dont eat any more fish
