Help Cloning Filter Please

I wonder if someone can help,i've just purchased a eheim liberty 200 filter,can i just replace the new sponge media with mature media?,trouble is my filter is rectangle and wide,would it work if i cut it in half and place it where the new media would've been?

Here's the filter in question,the biggest one.

yes, cut up your old mature media to fit inside the new filter...

ps.. after you have used it for a while, can you tell me what the HOB is like please as i am intrested in getting one.
