Just like the title. Just hot an outbreak of white spot in my tank. before I treat, I want to know if WS3 (the treatment I have) can be used in a tank that's got shrimp in it?

Hoping to treat the tank straight away IF I know the shrimp will surive.

The active ingredients listed are - Malachite green, acriflavine, quinine sulphate.

You will need to remove the inverts from the tank.
Good Luck.

Yup, remove the shrimp to a temporary tank, then treat the main tank.

Before you add the shrimp back in, do as big a water change as you can without going through all the stress of removing the fish (two 80% water changes should be fine), then add fresh carbon to the filter for a day before adding back the shrimp :good:.

Thanks for the info. I removed the shrimp from the tank and treated it. Fingers crossed.

How long should it take till I see signs of the treatment working? (I know that treatment must continue after all the spots have gone but so far, the spots have not shifted)

Treat another week once spots have vanished.
Hard to tell when you will see improvement as every tank is different.

Have you raised temp to 30 and increased aeration.
Have you removed black carbon from filter.
