Hi.

I've had my Betta for over a week now. I've just recently put him in his new aquarium (about 4 days ago).
The first day he was fine, very happy and very active. But recently, he is acting very sick and i'm very worried.

Symptoms:

He is not eating (I've tried dried food and blood worms)
His poop (sorry for the word) is stringy and transparent
He lays either at the bottom of the tank, or at the surface in a corner. (also stuck against the pump sometimes...)
He is hardly moving at all...

If not, physically he seems okay, his fins are in a good state... And, he stills flares when he sees his reflection.

My water parameters are all fine, but I can't test for ammonia because I can't for the life of me find a single shop that sells amonia tests...
He lives in a 5gal aquarium, with a pump but no heater (he is close to the radiator so the water is near 20°c). Since he's only been in the aquarium for a week, I've changed 25% o the water once (with added Aquasafe and Aquastart liquid products)
And finally he is alone in the tank...

Please help, I am very worried for my new Betta...

he needs a heater 20°C is no where near the right temp they need 24-26°C.

white stringy poo is usually signs of an internal problem

its not unusual for bettas not to eat until settled sometimes this can take up to 2 weeks just be persistent and remove any uneaten food.

the water temp will probably be why he is so sluggish and just floating about

It could be ammonia poisoning I would do a 50% water change (make sure clean water is dechlorinated) also, see if an lfs will test the ammonia for you. You can try looking for an API freshwater master testing kit. I am very surprised that no lfs' have ammonia kits. Not saying that they don't just find it shocking. Have you asked a store employee? and if so see if they are receiving some soon. At worst you could go online a try to buy one. :) Are you in the U.S.?

I'm in switzerland, and every shop owner i've asked said that they don't sell ammonia tests... Which is very confusing...
If it is ammonia poisining, what should I do to save my betta?
Would it be a good idea to put him in a Medical container and cycle my aquarium again?

Is your tank cycled? Oops just saw your entry about it now! Well if your tank has already been cycled you don't need to do it again, but you should have the supplies to check if something is going wrong with your water when their are signs like your fish acting sick.

You could try ordering online! whenever your fish is acting strange do a 50% water change, nothing helps fresh water fish like fresh water!!! Weekly water changes of 50% are a lot better than only 30%! You are more effective in replenishing minerals in the water!

If you can't monitor ammonia, then you don truly know if your cycle is complete, and I would listen to what nova said in your other thread as she is very experienced with bettas

Please help, I am very worried for my new Betta...

Change at least half the water and definitely put in a heater. Bettas are tropical fish, they need tropical temperatures. The heater will stimulate the fish's immune system.
